Welcome Iowa Health Educators,
On behalf of the Iowa Health Educators (IHEA) board members Happy New Year!! The beginning of a new year is a good time to reflect on the previous year. The 2020 year has offered many different opportunities to reflect upon! Some good, some bad, and lots of learning and growth opportunities. If anything, we have learned to be resilient.
A goal for the 2021 year is to encourage networking, increasing communication, and to offer support for health educators. To help accomplish this goal. IHEA board members are working on a virtual conference to be held later this spring. The title of the conference is “The Strength of Resiliency: 2021 and Beyond.” Through collaboration and organization, we are all learning to adapt to the required changes that is needed to keep Iowa healthy and safe. This conference is geared towards all health disciplines and academic levels of health education. Please watch the web page for further information. Thank-you for all that you do for the future healthcare workforce in Iowa.
I would also encourage you to think about serving on the IHEA board. By serving on the board you will have a voice on the interest and or needs of health educators and it is also a great way to network with others. There is currently an open position and this is position is for a representative of a community college. Reach out to me if you should have any questions or an interest in this opportunity.
Best wishes for a healthy and safe spring semester,
Maureen Weaver MSN M.Ed.
